Astronomy Friday – NGC 2903
NGC 2903 is a bright barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Leo. Perhaps the most surprising thing about this galaxy is that Charles Messier apparently missed this easily seen object in his catalogue of nebulae and star clusters that could easily be mistaken for comets.
