Natural Weekends – Ospreys Return

Every year, like clockwork, the ospreys return to the creek within days either side of the ides of March. The same pair occupy the same nest every year. We have no idea how these magnificent birds manage to fly up from their winter grounds in Central and South America and find the exact same spot every year but for some reason we are not supposed to call that talent intelligence. In these photos, one of them has already found a feast.
