Astronomy Adventure – Messier 1, The Crab Nebula
Like NGC 253, the Crab Nebula is another of those objects that is difficult to see from my polluted skies. I have seen it with averted vision on occasion but even a short exposure photo shows it relatively clearly in the center of this picture. Messier 1 is the remnant of a supernova that was initially recorded by the Chinese in 1054.
