The Current Incarnation Of The Republican Party Must Be Destroyed

At his point, is there any real argument that the current incarnation of the Republican party is a force for evil and must actually be destroyed and rebuilt from scratch. Today, the last remaining Senate Democrat signed on to the Feinstein bill that would stop the separation of children at the border. That means every one of the ten Senate Democrats who is running for re-election in states that Trump won has signed on to the bill.

And not one Senate Republican has joined those 49 Democrats. Not Susan Collins. Not Jeff Flake. Not Jeff Corker. And the majority of the Republican base is only too happy to throw children into cages.

For its part, the administration has offered multiple rationales for this policy of separation. As even Anthony Scaramucci realizes, “You can’t simultaneously argue that family separation isn’t happening, that it’s being used as a deterrent, that the Bible justifies it and that it’s @TheDemocrats fault” because it’s the law. But that is exactly what the Trump administration is doing, primarily because the right wing propaganda machine will sell anything Trump says to the base.

Of course, everyone knows the real reason for this new policy. It is the very same reason that Trump tried to kill DACA last year. Trump wants his wall and he does not care how many lives he destroys in order to get it. And extortion is the only way he know how to get what he wants.

Honest to God, I hate to break Godwin’s law, but really how far away from gas chambers are we? This must be stopped.
