Astronomy Adventure – NGC 2903
NGC 2903 is another galaxy in the constellation Leo and is actually one of the brighter galaxies we can see in the Northern hemisphere, which is why it is surprising that Charles Messier did not include it in his catalog. The discovery of the galaxy 20 million miles away was left to Charles Herschel in 1784.
And here is what it looks like with a nearly 2-hour stacked exposure with an 8-inch telescope:
