Astronomy Adventure – Finding Neptune
Even at the highest magnifications that I can realistically get with 4.5 inch telescope, the planet Neptune is virtually indistinguishable from a star. So the only way to really know you have seen it is to track its movements over the course of a few days. These two photos were take about a week apart in late September of this year and you can see how Neptune has moved in relation to the background stars.
