Do Trump And Others In His Cabinet Know That US Territories Are Part Of America?

Honest to God, you really have to wonder if Trump and other members of his administration even know that US territories are part of America. Trump calls the governor of the Virgin Islands “President” like it’s another country. And Rick Perry actually calls Puerto Rico a “country” like it’s separate from the US. I can see perhaps calling it a state by accident, but not a separate country. Of course, they will both be treated as simply gaffes but I really think that it is reflective of the idea that the people who live in those places are separate and not part of America.
